Objective

ArcTouch, a San Francisco-based mobile application development studio, wanted to reposition their marketing strategy to focus on agency partnerships and decided to showcase a selection of the over 85 successful application launches they developed with many agencies and larger brands.

The intention was to further associate the greater name recognition of their other existing clients' brands with their application development services, and build confidence with new clients, based on the strength of their existing partnerships. ArcTouch has worked with numerous agencies and bigger brands already, and their client list reads like a "who's who" in the advertising industry, something they wanted to impart to the viewers, to encourage them to do business together and to pre-qualify ArcTouch as a premier development partner.

Approach

We took individual screenshots and video screen captures of 19 of their branded client applications and composited them into their native devices, making sure to mimic the correct display formats and screen sizes. We created timed step-throughs of the still images, editing the transitions to the accompanying audio track (What I like About You by the Romantics), and using the song's timeline to arrange and edit the video. We used the songs natural dynamics to instruct our edits and tailored the visual themes we used to the various parts and transitions within the song.

Summary

ArcTouch presented this video first at a conference in Miami in early 2011 where it was shown to over 40 different agency CEOs to great response. Over one third of the attendees approached the ArcTouch representative for more information and or to pursue new business together. Since then the video has served as continued promotion for ArcTouch, and they have been able to use it in subsequent presentations as well as online for their web site, too.
